Blog #13- Endings always marks a New Beginning

Summer's almost here and schools almost up. But should I really give this up? Before we decide, let's go through all the things we've done. We recycled a lot and made a profit on it. We also up-cycled a lot of rubbish and made lots of things. The presentation ,I felt, was the worst part. I was unable to convey the message I wanted the audience to know. I felt like I improvised too much and was too nervous to speak. But what I wanted to say was that I wanted to continue this project. Why stop here? My goal was to inspire others while making a change. Why stop inspiring others? That is it in itself why I am continuing. I want to show the seemingly impossible is possible. The previous projects I have done are somewhat great, but I didn't have enough time to get better ideas started. Now I have as much time without deadlines, and things can now go a bit more smoothly. Summer shall provide lots of time to start and finish even more amazing projects. I really can't wait! Now all that's left is a week and a half to summer filled with creativity and ambition.

Final Blog

I think that my entire project could have gone better because there were some things that i didn't do but i wanted to do. i wanted to make an impact on the school but i didn't follow through because i didn't have the money and i thought that it wouldn't work. Anyway it was decent because i still made an impact in my neighborhood and i made some of my own profit. When me and my partner started to work on the presentation we were hoping on an engaging talk but when we were up i didn't do as i planned because i was so nervous that my knees were shaking. But it was an alright presentation.

Blog #12- The End?

So for a while now, I have been posting all about what happened. But my time on this blog might be cut short. Just maybe. So might as well tell y'all what might happen. So I have plans to continue this project of mine. It's interesting how people have reacted towards my projects. Some in awe, others just criticizing my work. But all of them had something against me in the beginning: doubt. Most people thought I would never make certain things, and the amount of time given to me wasn't enough. That's why I will continue on after school is over. What's the point of giving up a project that can inspire someone to ignore self doubt, to improve upon themselves, and learn off of other's teachings; building upon it. So this may not be the end after all, just more time to work on something I think is worth my time. A water balloon launcher, an iron man suit, and more. To create what was once trash, to build a better building on top of ruins.

Blog#12 still working on it

my partner has been working on the presentation so that he can do it how he wants to do it. But i still get to put some of my own thoughts. yesterday it was like a practice round but it didn't go so well because my partner dd all the talking and all i did was to push the button to change the slide. anyway i knew i could have done better but i didn't prepare for it. Don't worry though i will practice up until Thursday because that is when i will present. i plan on doing  some background information and explain what would happen if the world didn't recycle. i will also say what i did in my perspective of the project which was to do the cleaning up part.

Blog#11 work on the presentation

I have been working on the presentation  for about a week already but i didn't like it because i am more like a talking person not a reader. When  i started to do my power point i didn't know what to do since i have no outline i am on my own. i plan to be a talker and to engage the audience instead of reading off the screen like the last presentation of"to kill a mocking". once me and my partner are done with the project we would practice so that we would talk about it not reading.

Blog #10 time to get some duct tape!

Yesterday my partner finally told me why i needed to buy duct tape. He said that he was making a sombrero out of duct tape. Hopefully during the rest of the week i can buy some and if not i will go this weekend. i think that i will get some money so that i can get a few roles of this tape. Now time for the colors he told me  i needed to get: the common colors like grey, black, blue, etc. During the two weeks i got about half a bag of aluminum and plastic i could get much because i had to pick up my brother from school so that took a ton of time from my schedule. But on the other hand i still managed to save up on a little money for my partner's duct tape. About two days ago he told me that he finished the car by him self witch made me feel bad because i only helped him once. And for that i give him all the credit because he did it not me, but he also told me that when his sister took it for a spin, it broke. hopefully this the type of duct tape i can get him so good luck to me.

Blog #10- Finished Cart

                 Josue:

So after months of looking for the right materials, building, planning, and injuring myself, I managed to build a cart. Using the base of a bed, wood planks, bike wheels, and lots of screws, the cart was alive since 5/4/14. But this poor cart met it's untimely end. While testing if it worked, my sister got onto the cart and started jumping on it. We heard a crack and the cart broke from the middle. I was devastated, but there was some success in its early demise. It proved that I can create something somewhat complicated and planning should be thought out more. But I'm not going to stop here. Using its parts, I stripped of its wood, nails, and anything else still intact and of use to prepare something that by comparison to the cart, it would be amazing. Completion would be somewhere in August, which would also mean months after the end of this project. Why stop making stuff? It would be like giving up inspiring, and to inspire is my goal.

Blog #9 I'm finally caught up !

My partner on Thursday of last week told me to get a ton of duct tape. So i went out that same weekend and went to go look for the duck tape. But unfortunately i couldn't find duck tape that didn't so much my money. I'm still working on it but lately i have been doing a ton of catch up homework witch was a pain on the neck and still i'm trying to do it. Nonetheless this weekend for sure i will get some just hope that nothing happens to me. This is the type of duct tape i want to buy but cant afford it: wish i can get it. BUT WHY DOES MY PARTNER NEED IT?

Blog #4 I need help and got it

In this blog i couldn't remember what i did but nonetheless i know i did something. i got kind of frustrated when all the cardboard i found was all dirty and nasty. So i gave that a break and set out to find the most common recyclables: plastic bottles and aluminum cans. So me and my brother went out to my neighborhood to go look for what i wanted. We were out for a couple of hours and we found a decent amount; we put it on my wagon and kept on looking for more. At the end of the day i had a big bag of plastic and a miniature bag of aluminum. I was so happy and tired.

Blog #2 Time to catch up

Blog #2 was to be done a while back ago, but i didn't do it. i'm going to try to remember what happen. Okay so its was the beginning of me and me partner's project. We were trying to finish up the car but we needed more materials such as cardboard, wood, and metal things. Obviously cardboard was the main thing i needed to look for. So i did in about a few days i found a decent amount of cardboard and a little bit of metal; luckily i also found an old car radiator for the front of the car.

Blog #9-Bicycle Change-Up

So I was given a trashed up bike that was going to be recycled for metal. It was in bad shape, but still usable. So I began working on the bike. It took hours for the tires alone, but when I finished, I was able to ride the bike. But something that didn't seem right was the design. I didn't really like it, so an idea hit me. I should use colored duct tape to design the bike. So after much thought and consideration, I finally figured out what design to use. My favorite color, green, combined with a legendary entity of great power, and a hint of creativity, gave birth to my newly designed bike. And it's still not done. I've discovered some flaws in it, but once it's truly done, it will totally look awesome.

Blog #8 Falling behind

I am falling behind on my blogs so im going to blog about what i did yesterday. Yesterday i went to go look for more cardboard since the rest that i found was all nasty and dirty. I started around with my neighborhood but unfortunately i didn't find anything of my interest. So i went out to like small businesses and ask for some. Of course they had some but these small shops need money so they wanted money for it. i didnt take it because its a recycling project witch means that i should use my money. Besides they had  cardboard that was all torn and full of grease.

Blog #7 Times that are not so lucky

Today is Wednesday April  16. I'm doing my blog today because later on I'm going to forget. During the weekend I spend more than 4 hours looking for cardboard but most of it that i found were like full of grease and dirty, wet, and very smelly. But on the other hand i found aluminum and a little bit of plastic; the one problem with that is i really didn't need it. When i found cardboard i was so excited but when i pulled it out it was all covered in like slime and smelled really bad so i just left it.

Blog 1-The Beginning

Marcos:
Me and my partner Josue are going to start recycling all that this recyclable such as plastic aluminum, cardboard, metals and many more. Also we are going to create different kinds of creations, mostly made of recyclables. This would help our neighborhood, schools and community. By recycling we can reduce all of the trash from our community and at the same time we are making the place green. My partner and I are looking for plastic, aluminum, glass. Then once we are done we'll expand our ideas to do more.
Josue:
Hello everyone. My name is Josue. Me and my partner have decided to work together to use recyclables to make things. Some might be big, and others might be small. But the important thing is to find things that people would find unusable into something reusable. One man's trash is another man's treasure.

blog #6 Got money

In the past week i didn't do much because i was too focus on the cahsee but on Friday i found i found a ton of plastic bottles. Like almost two full bags but with aluminum i didn't find as much oh well. I also found a lot of cardboard but unfortunately most of it that i found was all wet. I also need to find all sorts of cardboard for the big up-cycling project that my partner is doing. My inventory is kind of small but it took me a lot of time to collect it. I want to start to trading all of my recyclables for money. i will post pictures later on. OnApril 5 I sold  a small bag of aluminum and a big bag of plastic and got $16 bucks.

Blog #5- When Opportunity knocks.....

So I was pretty bored one day eating at the table. So bored that I was going through the mail I fetched. Out of a magazine published by Anaheim, which gives the community daily and upcoming events news, something caught my eye( realizing now as I type that would really hurt). A future event is going to be held at Muzeo in April. This event involves creating art using recycling materials. I believe it was called "Trashartist" or something like that. It was unbelievable! Immediately, my mind began reeling for ideas, reaching into the great depths of my mind and getting ready to present them to my partner. Of course there's a catch: postponing our earlier project for something with a sooner deadline: April 1, 2014. I have an idea on how and it involves time-traveling into Anaheim's history........and soda cans........lots and lots of soda cans.

#4- Change of Plans

Josue:
So I thought about this for a while and I figured that we should tweak  our plan a bit. For example, why show how much recycling happens when most people know how but are too lazy to even try( although there are the few individuals who actually try; you have my thanks). So I just thought of just going through full up cycling. Seems like a better way to reuse. To remake something of little to no use into something better. Sometimes you got to take something apart to make something better. I will try to post photos, though this thing feels like it doesn't upload pictures correctly. Thanks!

Blog #3-Josue's Perspective

Josue:

So we had ideas on what to do for our project. This one may seem to big for the both of us, but if I remember, a quote said, "If your dreams do not scare you, they are not big enough"-Ellen Johnson. My imagination led to a Dream that became a vision of what could be. Mostly, a project of the 1930s helped me make my decision. We decided to start building a 1930s Blackhawk, an automobile so rare, only less than 1700 cars were sold. I also found the term for what we are doing. "Up cycling" is the term used to define a way of reusing. Sure, there is a chance some of the projects might turn up crude, but our purpose is to up cycle, and up cycle we shall.

Blog # 3-marco's perspective

Marco;

I have gathered a lot of bottles of plastic and aluminum cans and i have already a full bag of plastic bottles and a half a bag of aluminum cans. Now i am on high demand for cardboard and glass bottles. This is a step further into my project but its worth it. i have not yet sold my bag of bottles nor the bag of aluminum because it is not enough of the stuff and when i trade it, it wont be worth as much. On Wednesday i finally found an abundance of cardboard. it look like it came from a bed covering but its good. During the weekend i found plastic buckets and crates. And also i found a bird cage made of steel but i used it for my pet bird.
